Zeca Brito holds a Degree in Audiovisual Communication from Unisinos and in Visual Arts from UFRGS. He has directed and written short and feature films screened in Brazil and abroad. His short film “Aos Pés” won the Popular Jury award for Best Film at the Festin Lisboa Festival in 2009, and the feature “O Guri” was screened at festvals in Brazil and Portugal. In 2015, he released the feature “Glauco do Brasil” at the 39th São Paulo International Film Festival. In 2016, he directed the feature “Back in ’97”, awarded Best Foreign Youth Feature Film at the American Filmatic Arts Awards (New York, USA), Best Film at the The Best Film Fest (Seattle, USA), Special Jury Award at the 8th Jagran Film Festival (India), Best Film – Jury Award and Best Director at the Festival dos Sertões (Piauí, Brazil). In 2017, he directed the feature “The Extraordinary Life of Tarso de Castro”, shown at Rio Festival and the 41st São Paulo Int. Film Festival.
